ON SATURDAY EVENING, AS GERI WAS WORKING WITH US LAST YEAR, SHE CAME UP WITH THE IDEA OF WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF WE CREATED A LARGE JAZZ ENSEMBLE OF YOUNG PEOPLE THAT COULD HAVE TRAINING. WE CALLED IT THE GATHERING, AND THEY’LL HAVE THEIR DEBUT SHOW AT 9:00 ON SATURDAY EVENING AT THE CARR CENTER GALLERY ON WOODWARD. THE ORGAN RECITAL WILL BE OFF THE CHAIN. WE’LL BE AT CHRIST CHURCH CRANBROOK NEXT FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 3rd. AND WE HAVE THE DIRECTOR OF THE CHAPEL AT YALE. HE IS FINISHING UP HIS DOCK TROT AT EASTMAN SCHOOL OF MUSIC. WE SPECIALIZE IN JAZZ AND ARE TARGETING YOUNG PEOPLE, MIDDLE SCHOOL AND HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS.
